The intake of ProCombo during treatment with antibiotics has several positive effects on health:

ProCombo recovers the balance between “good” and “bad” bacteria

ProCombo does not let “bad” bacteria in intestine reproduce at the expense of “good” bacteria”. That balance guarantees good digestion and complete nutrient absorption in the human body. The result is quicker health recovery.

ProCombo reduces the risk of diarrhea

The intake of ProCombo reduces the risk of acute diarrhea caused by antibiotics. The large quantity of live lactic acid bacteria Lactobacillus acidophilus in ProCombo maintains intestinal comfort during and after treatment. The lactic acid bacteria Lactobacillus acidophilus in ProCombo belongs to the so called “good bacteria”, which are natural inhabitants of human intestine and contribute to normal peristalsis.

The bacteria in ProCombo are resistant to antibiotics

ProCombo contains live probiotic bacteria which are resistant to the negative effects of the commonly prescribed antibiotics. ProCombo should be taken along with antibiotic in order to prevent their negative effects on the human body – particularly on immunity and intestinal health.

ProCombo contains live probiotic cultures

The DUOCAPTM technology, used for the production of ProCombo, is the only technology that keeps probiotic cultures live from the moment of their insertion in a capsule up until the dissolving in the human gastrointestinal tract. Upon sealing of DUOCAPTM capsules, probiotic bacteria are not chemically or thermally treated. Controlled release ensures additional protection of probiotic bacteria against stomach acids. All that guarantees the extremely high percentage of viable probiotic bacteria in each and every capsule of ProCombo.

ProCombo ensures quicker recovery

DUOCAPTM (capsule in capsule) ensures quick and long lasting improvement of intestinal balance. With its help, the ingredients of ProCombo are released in two stages – the first stage is in the stomach, the second – in the small intestine. First stage of dissolution: Outer capsule is dissolved and prebiotic is released. Prebiotic is the nutriment needed for the probiotic bacteria to survive and develop. Second stage of dissolution: Inner capsule is dissolved and probiotic is released. Probiotic bacteria are viable, have enough nutrients (prebiotic substance) and are delivered directly in their “home” – the intestine.

1 capsule of ProCombo gives you all “good” bacteria you need daily

Due to the DUOCAPTM technology, one capsule of ProCombo contains the whole quantity of probiotic cultures an adult needs for a day. That makes ProCombo suitable for daily intake and much more effective.

ProCombo is not Only a Probiotic

Why does ProCombo Work So Well?

Dr. Garo Alboyadzhiyan, MD, Internist and Gastroenterologist

ProCombo is not Only a Probiotic

As far as ProCombo is concerned, it is not enough to look at it just as a probiotic. Its unique technological qualities and medically consistent ingredients instantly draw the specialists’ attention as something substantially different.

Manufactured as per an innovative technology, developed and used only by Capsugel, USA, ProCombo meets the medical requirements for ingredients and activeness, which guarantees health benefits for the patients. ProCombo is one of the very few probiotic products on the market containing an optimal quantity of good bacteria – 15 billion in one capsule only. The most important fact concerning its effectiveness is that all those bacteria are viable. That ensures quick recovery of the balance of the gastrointestinal flora, which is extremely important for patients suffering from abdominal pain and nausea.

What makes ProCombo so special? That is what my patients ask when I recommend it to them.
No product so far could selectively release intact ingredients at the right “destination” for each substance. ProCombo, however, obtains just that – with the help of the DUOCAPTM technology, by which ingredients are distributed into two capsules (inner capsule is inserted in the outer capsule), the dissolution of contents is divided into two stages. The first stage includes the dissolution of the outer capsule in the stomach. It contains prebiotic – the nutrition needed for the development of the probiotic bacteria. The prebiotic in ProCombo is not digested in the stomach and does not get absorbed by the human body – only probiotic bacteria could use it as nutrition. At the second stage, the inner capsule dissolves in the small intestine. It contains all 15 billion good bacteria, which are released directly in the intestine and adhere to the intestinal mucosa, thus colonizing it and carrying out their beneficial action.

Some of the most significant effects of ProCombo on the human body are:
1. Overgrowth in the small intestine – the probiotic bacteria Lactobacillus acidophilus in ProCombo affect the activity of the overgrowth of pathogenic microbes and reduce concentrations of toxic substances metabolized by them;

2. Urogenital infections – the good bacteria in ProCombo attach to the urinary and vaginal tract and restore the normal microbial flora;

3. Modulation of the immune system – ProCombo regulates / increases the production of specific immune cells engaged in the immune response of the human body in cases of inflammatory and infectious processes;

4. It supports the functions of the gastrointestinal tract after intake of antibiotics, thus providing efficient processing of food, absorption of nutrients from it, and preventing the development of diarrhea;

5. The product supports the efficient digestion of dairy products for people with lactose intolerance, and reduces the risk of diarrhea.
ProCombo has neither known contraindications, nor side and toxic effects.

Why does ProCombo Work So Well?

ProCombo is a state-of-the-art product, which belongs to the group of the so called “synbiotics” (a combination of probiotic and prebiotic) – at least in terms of ingredients. As far as its qualities are concerned, it substantially surpasses most of the other products in that group.
The product consists of natural products. One capsule contains Lactobacillus acidophilus La-14® live probiotic culture, and it delivers 15 billion viable “good” bacteria – the optimal daily quantity for an adult. Prebiotic – an important short chain fructooligosaccharide, is proven to maintain the activeness and development of probiotic bacteria L. acidophilus in ProCombo.

The incorporation of the L. acidophilus strain in ProCombo has a very specific purpose – it is the best studied and clinically tested probiotic strain with medically confirmed health benefits. L. acidophilus is present in the normal human microflora. It is not dissolved by the stomach acids, due to which it remains viable during its passage through it. The clinical studies have proven that L. acidophilus in ProCombo adheres to the intestinal epithelial cells and colonizes the intestinal lumen, where it carries out its beneficial effects on intestinal microflora and human health in general.

The prebiotic fructooligosaccharides in ProCombo are insoluble nutrients, which are not digested by the intestinal enzymes. They are part of ProCombo due to the fact that they stimulate the growth and development only of L. Acidophilus (i.e. only the probiotic included in the ingredients of ProCombo). That ensures the synergy between the probiotic and prebiotic in ProCombo, which complement each other, thus enhancing their effects.

A very important feature of ProCombo is the dual release of the two ingredients (probiotic and prebiotic), which takes place in different parts of the gastrointestinal tract – prebiotic in the stomach, probiotic – directly in the small intestine. That unique feature is due to the innovative DUOCAPTM (capsule in capsule) production technology, which controls the process in those two phases. That combination of two ingredients is also very convenient for the patients, as the whole daily intake is concentrated in one capsule only.

As a result of the ingredients and proven qualities of ProCombo, I recommend its intake for reducing the risk of acute diarrhea, caused by different viruses and bacteria. ProCombo is particularly beneficial for people who take antibiotics, as it protects them from diarrhea caused as a result of dysbiosis or bacterial overgrowth,  particularly with Clostridium deficile. ProCombo is also beneficial for lactose intolerant patients and patients that have developed diarrhea during or after radiotherapy. ProCombo could be used as an addition to the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), irritable bowel syndrome, diverticular disease, colonic diverticulosis, infections of the urogenital tract.

ProCombo could be taken safely for a long period of time. The normal duration of the treatment is between 2 and 8 weeks. In case of a more serious illness, the treatment duration should be determined by the treating physician. When prescribed along with antibiotics, ProCombo should be taken at least 2 hours before or after the intake of antibiotics.

A normal human brain weighs around 1.1 kg, while in a healthy human body there are 1.3 kg of probiotic bacteria and other microorganisms. A human heart weighs only 0.3 kg, a human lever – around 1.5 kg, which makes probiotic bacteria one of the largest organs in the human body.

In Human Body, There are 10 Times More Probiotic Bacteria than Cells

A healthy human body contains more than 100-300 trillion probiotic bacteria, compared to just 10 trillion cells. Some scientists say that if probiotic bacteria from just one man are put next to each other, their length will be equal to 2.5 times the circumference of the Earth.

Probiotic Bacteria Inhabit the Whole Human Body (Not Only the Stomach)

Most of the probiotic bacteria in humans inhabit the large intestine. However, billions of them are to be found in the mouth, oral cavity, nasal cavity, esophagus, gums and the pleural cavity (around the lungs). Probiotic bacteria also live in the stomach, small intestine, vagina, around the rectum, in joints, armpits, under toe nails, between toes, in urinary tract and urinary passages, as well as in many other locations in the human body!

400 Probiotic Strains Inhabit the Human Body

According to a number of scientific studies, over 400 strains of probiotic bacteria inhabit the human body. Some of them are constant inhabitants, while others are temporarily present in it. Actually, 75% of the whole volume of probiotic bacteria, which inhabit the human body, is formed of only 20 strains. The best known and thoroughly studied strain with proven medical benefits is Lactobacillus acidophilus. Because of that fact, it is part of ProCombo.

Probiotics Are Responsible for 70% of the Immune Response

According to Casey Adams Ph.D., probiotic play a vital role in 70–80% of the immune response of the human body against pathogenic invaders. Probiotics stimulate all immune cells – from T-killers to macrophages. Probiotics also stimulate cytokines and phagocytic cells in order to be able to control the immune response in accordance with the needs in different situations.

Probiotics Fight Colds and Constipation

It will hardly be a surprise for you that probiotics could relieve constipation. However, you definitely will be surprised by the fact that probiotics have a major role in fighting colds. It really sounds amazing, but it is a proven fact that numerous probiotics have shown that they help in fighting viruses such as colds, influenza, rotavirus, herpes and ulcers. In New Delhi, 100 children (age 2 to 5 years) were given Lactobacillus acidophilus for 6 months. Those children were proven to suffer less from colds, flu, diarrhea and fever compared to the group that had been taking placebo (in results from: Saran et al. 2002).

Probiotics are proven to participate in the production of a large part of the vitamins in the human body, such as: Vitamin А; Vitamin К; Vitamins В1–В3, В5–В7, В9, В12; Essential fatty acids. In addition to that, probiotics also improve digestibility, bioavailability, and processing of a large number of beneficial substances, some of which are: Copper Calcium Magnesium Iron Manganese Potassium Zinc Proteins Fats Carbohydrates Sugars Milk Phytonutrients Cholesterol The two lists are compiled and published by Casey Adams, Ph.D. in his book „Probiotics – Protection Against Infection”.

Prebiotics are nutritional fibers – „food” for the so called good bacteria in gastrointestinal tract. Modern people’s diet, however, is poor in prebiotic fibers. As a result, the amount of „good” bacteria decreases, which leads to constipation, diarrhea, bloating, gas... Probiotics are the live microorganisms themselves – bacteria that inhabit the gastrointestinal tract and ensure the healthy balance of the intestinal flora. They participate not only in the digestive processed in the human body, bit also in any other processes that are crucial for the good health. Therefore, ProCombo contains an ideal combination of beneficial bacteria (probiotic) and their nutrition (prebiotic), which ensures quicker recovery of the normal gastrointestinal activity.

It is well known that in female vagina there is a colony of probiotic bacteria that repel „invaders”. Oral intake of probiotics could contribute to the effective prevention and treatment of vaginitis and vaginosis. Probiotics that contain Lactobacillus acidophilus, such as ProCombo, could contribute to the removal of unpleasant odors from the intimate area, as well as to the normalization of pH to 4.5. Good vaginal flora of pregnant women is the first warranty for the good health of the infant. Few people are aware of the proven fact that during the normal (vaginal) birth, the baby receives its first portion of probiotic bacteria from the mother’s vagina. 60% of the babies born vaginally receive their first portion of probiotic bacteria Bifidus Infantis, compared to only 1% of the babies born by C-section. After the first portion of probiotic bacteria, received during the normal (vaginal) birth, the newborn baby gets the remaining quantity of necessary probiotic from the breast milk. More than 40% of the ingredients of the breast milk are probiotic substances. All those facts prove how beneficial for the good health of the infant the intake of a probiotic such as ProCombo is – before, during and after birth.

It Should Contain Live Probiotic Bacteria

Only viable bacteria could have positive effect on gastrointestinal health.

It Should Contain no Less than 10 Billion Viable Bacteria

Such quantity ensures quicker recovery and a possibility for the “good” bacteria to remain the human body longer after intake is terminated.

It Should Contain Prebiotic

Prebiotic is the nutrition needed for the growth and activity of probiotic bacteria. Thanks to prebiotic, probiotic bacteria obtain the necessary environment, and could develop and act the way they are supposed to.

It Should not Contain Sweeteners and Flavors

Those substances could become part of metabolism and/or the structures of the “bad” bacteria. As a result, those dangerous bacteria could become even more aggressive. ProCombo is based on those four important requirements – the product fulfills all of them. IMPORTANT: If you take a probiotic product in order to treat a problem that you have, it is very important to reduce the intake of sugar. It is considered that sugar provides an environment that is beneficial for the development of disease entities (cells, substances, etc.). Sugar is also believed to hinder the action of probiotics in their full capacity.

The Product that is Most Thoroughly Studied and Proven to be Safe

ProCombo contains Lactobacillus acidophilus La-14®, which is proven to be type А1. L. acidophilus La-14® is of human origin and is registered by ATCC (American Type Culture Collection). Lactobacillus acidophilus has been part of many people’s daily menu for centuries, as it is contained in yoghurts and other foodstuffs. Lactobacillus acidophilus is included in the inventory of “Microorganisms with a documented history of use in food”. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has included Lactobacillus acidophilus in the “Generally recognized as safe” list.

Survives in Gastrointestinal Tract

The probiotic L. acidophilus La-14® in ProCombo is highly resistant to low-pH environments. It “survives” in the presence of bile salts in concentrations typical for the duodenum. That proves how beneficial for the good health L. acidophilus La-14® is. ++++ Excellent;   +++ Very good;   ++ Good;   + Satisfactory

It Lives in the Intestines for a Long Period of Time

Probiotic bacteria in ProCombo successfully adhere to the intestinal mucosa. That increases the length of their “stay” in the intestines and enables them to form colonies. Colonization with “good” bacteria protects against intestinal pathogens and modulates the immune response. That allows ProCombo to recover the balance of the gastrointestinal flora. Two in vitro cell lines were measured during the clinical study - Сасо-2 and НТ-29.

Adherence to human intestinal cells (in vitro) ++++ Excellent;   +++ Very good;   ++ Good;   + Satisfactory

Stops the Development of Pathogens

L. acidophilus La-14® in ProCombo stops the development of pathogens in the intestines. That is of crucial importance for the therapeutic modulation of intestinal microflora and the quick recovery of gastrointestinal balance. In vitro inhibition of: ++++ Excellent;   +++ Very good;   ++ Good;   + Satisfactory

Improves Immunity

A number of studies have proven that L. acidophilus La-14® in ProCombo modulates immune functions, thus improving their reaction to oral vaccination, shortening duration or reducing the risk of certain types of infections, relieving symptoms or reducing the risk of allergy and many other immune-mediated conditions. Relative change in the quantity of specific lgG и lgA in orally vaccinated people after treatment with L. acidophilus La-14® Intake of the probiotic L. acidophilus La-14® leads to quicker and better induction of specific lgA и lgG, compared to the control group, i.e. it stimulates specific immunity.

Dissolves Oxalate Stones

Intake of ProCombo could be beneficial for people suffering from oxalate problems – kidney stones, renal failure, etc. Studies have proven that the oxalate dissolving action of L. acidophilus La-14® is 100 % – the same as the one of Oxalobacter formigenes DSM 4420.

Survives During Intake of Antibiotics

Due to the ability of the probiotic bacteria L. acidophilus La-14® to survive in the presence of antibiotics, ProCombo reduces the risk of side effects from the treatment with antibiotics. Assessment of the antibiotic resistance of L. acidophilus La-14®

The specially selected prebiotic fibers NutraFlora® in ProCombo are derived from sugarcane through biofermentation. They have a short-chain structure, due to which they ferment in intestines only with the help of „good” bacteria – Bifidobacteria and/or Lactobacilli. The prebiotic in ProCombo does not react with pathogens whatsoever, i.e. the „bad” bacteria could not eat it. Due to that, NutraFlora® ensures the best possible probiotic effect.
